It's all about your body's Threshold Of Awareness...
So what's actually going on when you wake up in the morning and all of a sudden your neck is all locked up and painful and you can't even turn your head to look over your shoulder to drive your car?
It's not that something huge, terrible happened overnight while you were sleeping.
There were little things leading up to what just happened. Your body has a threshold of awareness. Anything that's going on below that threshold, your body just covers it up and you don't even realize what's happening.
You could have had a little muscle tightness creeping up but it wasn't enough for you to really notice it. Then one night you sleep in a strange position or you're over at a relative's house for the holidays and that one little change bumps you above that threshold of awareness. Now that little bitty step feels like a huge, terrible thing happened.
Moving forward, what we have to do is to get your body lower and lower away from that threshold of awareness. The goal it to get really good flexibility and make sure your posture is really good so that that one little thing doesn't bump you over the edge and make it feel like a huge, terrible thing.
