The Army is planning to roll out a new physical fitness test in the near future, the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT). Because the ACFT is so different than the current Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) many units have already started to train for it...
...AND physical therapists are already seeing patients with injuries related to it!!!
I believe the ACFT is an accurate test of physical fitness as it relates to the physical demands Soldier's encounter primarily because you can't "fake it" with this test! You either have the strength, skill and fitness to get it done or you don't. The problem is if you don't have what it takes, as related to the knowledge of HOW to perform the test components, you're not only going to fail the ACFT, you risk getting injured in the training!
In the process of looking for resources that offer the guidance, education and training I'd provide if I had the one-on-one time with each patient, I returned to one of my favorite physical therapists trainers and found this...
